·       The Digital Television Transition and Public Safety Act of 2006 1) forced the FCC to auction 60MHz of spectrum for commercial use, 2) cleared additional spectrum for public safety, and 3) provided $1 billion for interoperable public safety communications equipment.

·        Blocked a one-year $207 million patent and trademark fee increase proposed by the Bush Administration.

·        Secured federal funding for a $1.3 billion U.S. Customs Service information technology contract.

·        Avoided costly homeland security mandates and secured over $450 million in federal funding to bolster emergency wireless federal, state, and local public safety communications capabilities.

·        Eliminated $15.9 billion in contingent liabilities for the wireless telecommunications industry.

·        The Commercial Spectrum Enhancement Act 1) accelerated and improved the process for reallocating $13.7 billion of spectrum from government to commercial use, 2) protected critical national security communications capabilities, and 3) paved the way for the FCC’s successful 2006 Advanced Wireless Services (AWS) spectrum auction.

·        Approval of Cingular’s $41 billion acquisition of AT&T Wireless.

·        Accelerated, by 2 years, federal law enforcement's plan to clear AWS spectrum for commerical use.

·        Enactment of the sweeping patent law changes contained in the American Inventors Protection Act.
