Sarah Curtis joined CAPITOL SOLUTIONS® as a Legislative Associate in February 2007, bringing five years of federal and local government experience, an extensive background in health care, veterans, and appropriations issues, and knowledge of the major issues under the House Energy & Commerce Committee's extensive jurisdiction with her.
Since joining the firm, Ms. Curtis has become a valued member of Capitol Solutions’ professional service team.She has proven to be an effective advocate on key energy and environment issues; and her health care policy expertise, particularly on Medicare and Medicaid issues, is a great asset.
Ms. Curtis' federal and local government experience includes:
·Over three years on the legislative staff of Congressman Ted Strickland (D-OH), who now serves as Governor of Ohio, where she became a Senior Legislative Assistant focused on health care. Ms. Curtis worked with the Congressman, constituent groups and interested stakeholders on crucial Medicare, Medicaid, and health care coverage issues. She managed and coordinated all of Strickland's appropriations requests and served as a key policy advisor on budget and veterans' issues.
·Two years with the Cleveland City Council as a liaison between the local community and municipal government.
Ms. Curtis received her undergraduate degree from Ohio State University and earned her masters degree in Political Management from George Washington University.
